Our Holiday Card! (Also to be known as things aren't always as easy as they look!)

Happy Holidays bloggy friends!!

(both old and new!)

May I present to you our first holiday picture since...well I don't think we've ever sent out a holiday picture..

Gorgeous right?

I've wanted to do a holiday photo card forever and this year I was determined to get a family photo and make a card.
Back at the end of November, we had to get the family, my camera and my tripod to the park so I could use my self-timer on my camera and then run into the picture.
Easy right? I mean really, look how great this photo came out!

(So I guess I won't tell you about EVERY single one of the other 42 shots that came out something like this...)

I think there may be a reason we havn't taken a family portrait in over nine years...

(To my real life family who's reading out there-you and who happen to appear in these pictures, you all did great. Thank you for letting me get the ONE good shot. It worked. Thank you for also giving me the much appreciated reminder that things aren't always as easy as they look, I wouldn't trade you guys for the world. Love you!)

I also love YOU bloggy friends!

Hope your week is filled with Holly Jolly Holiday spirit!

Love the nail diamond - I need to get one for my employee, she would love it! Also placed my new little snow dudes in their proper holiday places! Than you very much! Working in retail during the holidays has me crazy...on top of this new gym thing...no time to breath! Thanks again - you rock! *hugs*

it looks great! After a while you won't remember the craziness of the outtakes you will remember the togetherness you felt when you took that pic!

HAH, it took nearly 1000 takes for us to get the *one* family photo that looks decent enough to put on our card!

Gorgeous photo! Happy Holidays!

Haha, this is precisely why I don't typically shoot family things (or self portraits). Families are hard to organize and self timers are such a pain in the ass.

But I'm actually going to try doing a series of family portraits (well, my roommate family here in NY) along with self portraits in the spring, so I'm sure I'll have lots of this experience.

Bah, these are the kind of reasons I'm all about a long shutter release cable!

Anyway, the photo is lovely! And I hope I can see you when I'm back in CA. Happy holidays, particularly Hannukkah (And it's my first one away from home, so sad!), since that is this week!

Nice card. We have never done one like that but I hope to get one next year. I had to scan my silly card! Merry, merry!

It took a number of shots to get the right one of my son for our card. Your card came out well!
