Happy 22nd Birthday Sis!

Happy Easter!
Yes, we still do Easter egg hunts around here!
We even have our very own Easter bunny with the floppy ears and everything. She's technically a dog but I think she could pull it off!

Our Easter was pretty laid back, I went to boot camp and then had to work until noon but then got to come home, have an Easter egg hunt and in the second half of the day celebrate my sister's 22nd birthday. Her birthday's tomorrow but she's back at school so we had our "big" celebration over the weekend. We celebrated with my mom's famous shrimp pasta, Funfetti cupcakes and a tiara atop my sister's head.

Happy 21st Birthday Sis!
Happy 21st Birthday Sis!
So today was my beautiful older sister's 21st birthday.
We started out the day with my mom, my sister and I going and getting pedicures [though the woman who was doing my mom's feet cut her toe open and responded with, "hmm, yes that might sting." haha, and we left having to pay for the band aid as well. But come on, if you make someone bleed shouldn't there be a little price cut?] Oh well, our toenails look pretty now.
Then my mom and my dad [who drove the 4 to 5 hour drive down here for the day so he could be here to celebrate] and my sister went to Chevy's where they got mango margaritas and then to the Corbel winery so my sister could do a champagne tasting.
They came home to change clothes and we all went out to dinner.

We were the only people in the restaurant so she held nothing back getting excited about the presents she was unwrapping.
[sis, dad]
She then opened the present from our dad...and found a blue topaz ring.
She enjoyed trying the 3 set taster of white wine at the restaurant.
Of course a candle was brought out in a dessert..
and was excited to see it wasn't chocolate!
[She hates chocolate]
The waiter [who was being super sweet the entire time,] brought this dish out to me because "he didn't want me to feel left out". Too cute right!?
After coming home [and me going to and getting back from class] 21 candles were lit and blown out in funfetti cupcakes.
[mom]
The day ended with a game of scrabble [using her brand new Deluxe Scrabble with twice the board size and twice the letters] while watching her new copy of The 3 Musketeers.
Sissy, Thank you so much for being such an incredible older sister and role model. I love you more than anything and am glad that we've been able to come to having the wonderful relationship that we do. I love you so much!
Happy 21st Birthday!

Happy 1st Birthday Snowflake!
I've known for a while that this day were coming. It's hard though, no matter how hard you try to prepare yourself for it you're never really ready. All week I've been on edge, loosing it when I least expect to. But as much as I wish this day were able to be different, I know it's not, so I'm trying to put on my smile and remember that it's still a day to celebrate.
A friend of mine had a baby a year ago today. He was very close to my heart and meant the world to me. I loved him as though he were my own. He was here for a very short time and left for heaven to become the angel that he truly is at a mere five and a half months. Although he was on this earth for a short amount of time he will never be forgotten. So in memory of what would have been his first birthday I leave this...
The world may never notice
If a Snowdrop doesn't bloom,
Or even pause to wonder
If the petals fall too soon.
But every life that ever forms,
Or ever comes to be,
Touches the world in some small way
For all eternity.
The little one we long for
Was swiftly here and gone.
But the love that was then planted
Is a light that still shines on.
And though our arms are empty,
Our hearts know what to do.
Every beating of our hearts
Says that we love you.
