My 2nd Blogoversary

I started this blog 2 years ago in an effort to feel connected.
To anyone.
I was sick. I was lonely. I felt stuck.

I am in such a different place today. In this moment.
I'm working hard to accomplish a goal, no longer feeling stuck I know exactly what I need to do to get where I want to go.
Not nearly as sick, I can leave on a quick trip somewhere without needing to carry 6 bottles of medication with me everywhere. I can just grab my keys and go.
And the reason I've not been blogging as often?
I'm no longer as lonely. Not feeling like my blog was my attempt grasping for anything I could get. A simple connection to the outside world.
I am surrounded at all hours by people. And more than that, people who care.
I walk across campus and get hugs from 25 different people on the average day.
I laugh. A lot.
And I love it.

So again, it's my blogoversary.
And I am so glad to have the last two years documented so I can look back and truly see just how far I've come.

Who are you?

I've reached 66 followers!! I'm so incredibly excited!

We're busy here at the house cleaning and are about to start putting up winter decor! (Yes, I realize it's early but I'm having my birthday party in a couple of weeks and Thanksgiving's a few days later and it's so much work that we decided to try to get a move on this year!)
I'm pretty excited that I have only two classes this week, Wednesday's Veterans Day and tomorrow's a teacher work day so I have almost an entire week off!
That time will be devoted to cleaning and tackling the extra homework that my professors decided it would be fun to tack on! (A relaxing week indeed!)

So, as I work the days away, I ask all you new followers this-Who are you!?
I have come to know and love so many of you precious bloggy friends but there are so many more of you out there I havn't really gotten to know!

This is me calling out all you lurkers, in fact I'm calling out all of you awesome bloggers who are out there!
Whether this is your first time commenter or not, make yourself known and tell me about yourself!
Family? Kids? College?
Do you blog? What do you blog about?
Are you a TV/Crafting/Photography/Music/Sport Fanatic?

The Introduction To Me and my Blog

Photobucket

So I thought I'd post the introduction to my blog.

I've made my way through life by asking questions and approaching daily tasks by finding each and every way that things could be approached. When I was in preschool, I was never much like the other kids. Granted, I loved playing on the playground with my friends but I was always focused on the bigger things out there in the world.
One day when I was sitting off to the side of the playground, a teacher came up to me and asked what I was thinking. I replied, "I'm thinking of blue"

Thus became this blog. A collection of the ramblings and thoughts from my mind (often that won't make much sense.)

I've had numerous blogs in the past but have posted my entries so sporadically on the different blogs that it's often been hard to keep track of everything. So I've decided to keep it all in one place now.

Now about me.

I'm a junior at Holy Names University. (I should be a senior but this is the fourth college in four years that I've gone to and transferring units is just asking for trouble!)
I'm a photographer and love the ever challenging task of trying to freeze a moment in time. I enjoy digital cameras for the ease but there's nothing like sitting with the chemicals in the darkroom awaiting the magic that appear on the once white sheet of paper.
I'm a dancer and have been dancing for most of my life both in the studio and out. I'm the one you'll see in the grocery store tapping in line in the grocery store even when you hear no music.
I'm a scrapbooking junkie.
I love to knit and in the 5 years I've been doing it have only managed to successfully make scarves as I get bored too easily.
Reading is one of my favorite pastimes. What's better than escaping into the wondrous world of someone else's imagination?
I'm an equal rights activist and think people should be judged by their character rather than by assumptions.

I really like butterflies and rainbows, they are my definition of optimism.

I love kids and am working to receive my early childhood education certificate. I'm very passionate about working with kids with developmental disabilities, especially down syndrome and autism. I've worked with kids with disabilities since I was in eighth grade.

I am also a huge supporter of finding a cure for childhood cancers. I hope to either work with  disabled or terminally/chronically ill children by the time I finish college. My dream job would be to work as a wish granter for the make-a-wish foundation [heh, probably not going to happen as it's a volunteer position but thats the point of it being a DREAM job right?]. Realistically though I'm going to school majoring in child development/special education and hope to become a child life specialist after I get my degree.
I've had many ongoing health issues and know firsthand how scary hospitals can be for a child.
My two main current diagnosis' are Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
I have chronic illnesses but refuse to let them define me.

I don't believe in regret as every decision I have made and everything that has happened to and/or around me has helped shape me into the person I am today and has led me to meeting some absolutely incredible people. I believe that everything that happens in life whether we see it as good or bad has some piece of information or lesson that we are meant to learn from it. It's our choice whether to learn it or not.

I strive to live my life with Hope, Optimism, Love and Laughter.

"I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

Robert Frost
